Our story
Two lifelong friends, one standard for every home.
LHB Development was founded by two lifelong friends, Shawn McSheffrey of Reading, MA, and David Gershaw of Danvers, MA, who first met in high school at St. John’s Prep. Their friendship has been the foundation of the company, built on trust, collaboration, and a shared passion for creating exceptional homes.
Whether you’re purchasing one of our meticulously crafted homes for sale or partnering with us to design the luxury custom home of your dreams, our mission remains the same: to exceed your highest expectations in every aspect, from design and planning to the final build.
Since 2015, we’ve assembled a dedicated team of architects, designers, tradespeople, and vendors who share our commitment to quality and excellence. A streamlined process reduces risk, cost, and lead times, so the experience is as seamless as the finished home.

“Wow, just wow! We couldn't believe our luck when we came across this gem of a house. After months of house hunting, this stunning new build literally checked every box on our wishlist. The dedicated home office is genius: not a bedroom conversion, but a real, thoughtfully designed workspace that's perfect for remote work. Honestly, the craftsmanship blew us away, and we're still amazed by how low our energy bills are compared to our old place.”
“Coming from San Francisco, we were worried about finding a home that matched the modern aesthetic we were used to while still feeling like a New England house. Lighthouse Brothers totally nailed it! Their fresh take on classic architecture gives us the best of both worlds: that timeless Boston-area charm with all the contemporary features we love. Such a welcome change from the cookie-cutter new builds we kept seeing.”
“We were particularly blown away by the stunning bar and entertaining area. The custom cabinetry, wine storage, and layout make hosting friends and family an absolute joy. The attention to detail throughout is remarkable, from the energy-efficient systems to the thoughtful layout and premium finishes. The builders were incredibly responsive during the closing process, and even months after moving in, they've been attentive to any questions we've had.”
